CONDITIONS OF USE (main points)BACK TO ONLINE ORDER
Thank you for giving our company the opportunity to help you with cleaning up your home and yard. Below are the main points of the conditions of use for Cut Price Skips. Please read them to ensure a smooth transition from drop off to pick up of your skip, for both your household and our company.
FILLING THE SKIP
Please do not fill your skip above the top of the bin / water level. We must ensure the skip is safe to transport on the road and adheres to health and safety regulations as set out by the RTA. If the skip is overfilled we do reserve the right to remove part of the contents in order to comply with these regulations. An extra fee will be charged for overloaded skips.
PLEASE DO NOT MOVE THE SKIP
Once the skip has been delivered, it is important that you do not move it. Our truck must have the same access and overhead clearance on pick up as it had on delivery.
Each skip that we unload at landfill must adhere to ACT NoWaste rules. Please DO NOT put asbestos, oil, chemicals or hazardous waste into your skip. While you are permitted to put insulation into the skip, ACT No Waste regulations state that all insulation must be placed in bags and tied off. Tyres, while accepted, will incur extra tip charges ($5 per normal car tyre).
HEAVY BIN CHARGES
At this stage you have informed us of what you will be putting into the skip, you were quoted a price according to that information. As a general rule standard odds and ends from around your home being placed into the skip will not exceed the weight allowance, it is only when heavy items are placed into the skip that it may exceed the allowance. As a reminder heavy bin charges generally will apply to skips that contain renovation material rubble, four or more solid hardwood sleepers or more than two wheelbarrow loads of dirt/soil, rocks, bricks, concrete, tiles etc. As we are charged by the weight of what we unload at Canberra's Waste Management facilities, this type of material substantially increases the weight in the skip and therefore the tip fees we incur and the heavy bin charge simply covers that increased cost. Currently ACT Government tip fees are $140/tonne.
As a guide, included in the initial price of your skip are the following weight allowances for each sized skip. Please note, if the contents of your skip exceed the weight allowance listed below, an additional ‘heavy bin charge’ will apply to your hire at a rate of $14 per 100 kilograms.
- 2 meter skip - 300kgs
- 3 meter skip - 450kgs
- 4 meter skip – 600kgs
- 6 meter skip – 900kgs
- 9 meter skip – 1350kgs
